The quality of the organization of the Occitanie cycling Ufolep championship by Alva cyclosport and its 70 volunteers was unanimously recognized. Arrival on the hill of Saint-Vincent-Lespinasse allows you to see (with binoculars!) 3 of the 11 kilometers of a selective circuit rather favorable to climbers. The conditions were ideal on Sunday June 16 for the 220 starters divided into 15 categories.
The Friendlies
If the organizers’ lights were green, they were red for the 4 friendly runners entered. They suffered, resisting as much as possible. The 60-year-old departmental neo-champion, Jean-Michel Sekula, more of a puncher than a climber, finished seventeenth. Veteran Jean-Claude Chabourlin completed his three laps, 35 km with 400 meters of elevation gain, one month shy of his 82nd birthday. He received the attendance prize from Visin Mayor Serge Boyer. Junior Adrien Bongiovanni finished eleventh. New-fifty-year-old Raphaël Bouard, 19th, was surprised by the pace: “I thought we would ride slower in the 50-59 year old category which I am discovering this year. We had a higher average than last year, i.e. 37 .6 km/h”!

President Gérard Bongiovanni and the members of the Alva cyclosport office thanked the municipalities of Saint-Vincent Lespinasse, Goudourville, Pommevic, Saint-Paul-d’Espis, and all of their partners, including the Occitanie region, the departmental council 82, the community of communes of Deux-Rives, Ufolep Occitanie and Tarn-et-Garonne, EDF nuclear power plant of Golfech, Omexon, the FabLab, Pylones, Philibon, Harmonie Mutuelle, Babeth Coiffure and Go Cycles, without whom this demonstration could not have taken place, without forgetting the understanding of all local residents for the inconvenience caused on the route.
