Many festivities are planned throughout the day in the province, on the occasion of Quebec’s National Day. In Montreal, the traditional parade invited Quebecers to join in a veritable “living fresco” before continuing the party at Maisonneuve Park for a big show, but the whole thing only lasted 15 minutes.

The Montreal parade began at 1:30 p.m. on Rachel Street at the corner of Molson Street and ended at the corner of Rachel and Orléans. The whole thing only lasted 15 minutes, according to our information.

Throughout the journey, participants will be able to enjoy activities, traveling sculptures and marvel at the artists of all disciplines who will have to juggle with bad weather, particularly with the wind which risks playing spoilsport.

This year, the parade wants to be lively and without a float. “It’s really going to be a festive, human parade […]. We will feel exhilarated, in a state of happiness,” declared Marie-Anne Alepin, general president of the Société Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Montréal and the National Day Committee.

“Go get your Quebec flags, dress in blue and white, and join the party!” she added.
