Beyond the centrists, most of the leaders of the right-wing Les Républicains (LR) made the trip. Notably the former mayor of Périgueux Antoine Audi, who announced his support last week. A few are still missing, like Laurent Mossion, LR departmental councilor and declared candidate for mayor of Périgueux in 2026, who is discussing at the same time a few blocks away at the Garden Ice Café with the director of LR, Fabien Marty.

« Bloc central »

The mayor of Le Havre arrives from Libourne where he gave his support to the local MP earlier in the morning. He’s really late, but the audience doesn’t hold it against him. On the contrary, between selfies and handshakes, the former Prime Minister struggles to make his way to the microphone.

Jeans, jacket, shirt without tie, Édouard Philippe made himself comfortable to play his role as a juggernaut. The polls that punctuate the campaign hardly invite optimism in the ranks of the “central bloc”? The former tenant of Matignon wants to believe in the “experience” and “pugnacity” of the majority candidates to turn the table.

Enough to galvanize Michel Delpon, former MP and candidate in Bergeracois, and Jean-Pierre Cubertafon, the outgoing parliamentarian from Périgord Vert, both invited to the family photo alongside Clément Tonon. Note that François Tourné, the evanescent Renaissance candidate in Sarladais, is not in the party.
