With the creation of this new High-speed line (LGV) between Bordeaux and Toulouse, travel times will be shortened. THE habitants of Tarn-et-Garonne should to see go to Toulouse faster.

The project amounting to almost a billion euros will double the number of four-furrow tracks on 19 km at the northern entrance to Toulouse.

Ultimately, the objective is to connect Toulouse to Paris in three hoursbut also to make Toulouse-Bordeaux in around an hour, compared to two hours currently.

A budget of 2.2 million euros voted by the Department

The railway developments planned in the geographical area Bordeaux-Toulouse will be financed 40% by the State, 40% by local authorities and 20% by the European Union.

A mixed mobility union created

The Tarn-et-Garonne mobility union for the LGV has just been created: it is made up of Grand Montauban and the Department of Tarn-et-Garonne.

Grand Montauban and the Department of Tarn-et-Garonne wanted to work in synergy on the mobility induced by the future LGV-TER station of Montauban and other associated facilities: such as the hospital, the future station district, the motorway interchanges of the A62 and the A20, the boulevard d’Occitanie, the departmental roads with urban deviations. This is to anticipate future road and intermodal service needs.

The Grand Montauban

The head office of this union called SM82 LGV will be located within the Mairie de Bressols. Its objectives will be as follows: to lead reflection on mobility issues; centralize exchanges between third-party financiers and the State; and use service providers as needed.
