FC Lorient has ended its collaboration with Régis Le Bris, who had been in office since the summer of 2012. After leading the training center and winning the French U17 championship title in 2017, Le Bris was appointed first team coach in June 2022. Under his leadership, FC Lorient finished 10th in Ligue 1 during the 2022/2023 season.
FC Lorient held, in a press release, to “thank Régis Le Bris for his investment, his work, his determination and his professionalism over all these years” as well as wishing him “the best for the future”.
To replace him, the club has chosen to appoint Olivier Pantaloni. This experienced trainer led AC Ajaccio since 2014, after a first stint at the head of this team from 2009 to 2012. Pantaloni signed up for two seasons with FC Lorient. He marked the history of the Corsican club, whose colors he wore for 6 years, experiencing two rises in Ligue 1 as an assistant (2002) then as head coach (2012 and 2022). He also finished twice on the Ligue 1 podium in 2017 and 2020. Pantaloni opens today a new chapter in his career by joining FC Lorient, with the ambition of allowing the club and its supporters to return to Ligue 1.
