In interview after theaccession en Pro B, Sunday June 16, 2024, Yann Siegwarth was still evasive about his future with the Caen club. This Monday, June 24 in the early morning, Caen BC finally announced the extension long awaited from his rear for the coming season. After a more than successful year of NM1, the 30-year-old will begin his second consecutive season with the CBC. This time in the French second division.

A logical sequence

The extension of Yann Siegwarth comes following those of the Caen captain Mounir Bernaoui, the coach Stéphane Éberlin and his assistant Éric Béchaud. A logical contract extension after an excellent season from the 1m85 fullback. The native of Var was a key piece of Caen’s success by participating in 46 meetings out of 47 possible with the CBC. He finished the regular season with an average of 11 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists and a rating of 9.8.

Appreciated by all

Yann Siegwarth signed his first professional contract in 2010 with the Antibes Sharks. After two seasons in Pro B, he went to Belgium. Returned to France in 2013, he signed with Caen Basket Calvados during the 2015/2016 season. Staying for only one season, he played three NM1 clubs in three years before settling down in Chartres for four seasons. Returning to Caen in 2023, he therefore leaves for a tour in Normandy, synonymous with a third year at Caen BC in his career. There is no doubt that the announcement of the extension of this player loved by Caen supporters, elected MVP five times this season, including in the play-offs, will be appreciated by all.
