This Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m., the Auchan Piéton store located on rue Taillefer will close the curtain for good, two and a half years after its opening. The digital and physical store, where you can collect your pre-ordered groceries as well as buy a few products on site, is stopping its activity due to the large number of costs and the lack of traffic. “The rents are expensive and coupled with other costs, all of this is too important in relation to the activity,” summarizes Vincent Bidard, director of Auchan Marsac. The three employees, one full-time and two students, will return to the store or the drive-thru. “We had an interesting price position in comparison with Carrefour or Monoprix, this positioning also explains why we can’t find our way around. »
If the store, which was the 83rd Auchan Piéton in France, bows out, Vincent Bidard announces that a new service will meet customer needs. “This business offered a service to residents of the city center. To continue this, we will very soon set up a home delivery service via the drive site. It will therefore be possible to have it delivered right to your door. »
