Cut on the line in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Nearly 27,500 SFR and Bouygues Telecom customers were affected this Friday, November 15, 2024, by a telephone network outage. It lasted a little more than 2 hours, between 2 p.m. and 4:20 p.m. to be exact, and mainly impacted the Manosquin basin. According to the prefecture, a technical incident occurred on mobile network distribution equipment from the operator Bouygues Telecom in the department, directly impacting nearly sixty mobile relay equipment (57 in the Alpes-de-Haute- Provence and two in ) have ceased to operate.

The origin of the fault is currently unknown, but Bouygues Telecom technicians quickly went to the site and were able to resolve the problem.

Even if the absence of telephone service was relatively short and no further disturbances were observed, the firefighters took precautions and reminded the procedure to follow in such a scenario: “If you have difficulty reaching emergency services, preferably use a landline or dial 112 from a mobile phone.“. This is good advice to remember if you encounter fried food on the line again.
