According to Environment Canada, several rain warnings are in effect starting Saturday evening in Quebec. The showers will mainly affect the south of the province, and will reach as far as Quebec, Montmagny and as far as Estrie. The greater Montreal area should see the first showers fall overnight.

Precipitation will continue until Sunday evening for the western region of the province. However, we will have to wait until Monday morning for the south and east of Quebec. No precipitation is subsequently expected, which will allow Quebec to celebrate its national holiday dry.

Environment Canada expects up to 70 millimeters of rain over the weekend, although thunderstorms and heavier downpours could increase those levels.

Sunday will also be marked by gusts of up to 60 km/h for the St. Lawrence Valley.

Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie will have rain from Sunday morning. The showers should then move further east to reach the town of Gaspé. In total, less than 50 millimeters of rain are expected in Gaspésie.

Near Sept-Îles and Port-Cartier, where flames are currently ravaging thousands of hectares, clouds are expected, but very little precipitation is expected in the coming days. However, the winds will decrease this weekend.
