5 – PRESAGE NOCTURNE
This resident of the Botti family has less skill than some of his opponents of the day, but he perhaps has a class more. For his first steps in handicaps, over the 2400 meters of Chantilly, he took a pleasant second place a short neck from Sacred Spirit, a representative of the Wertheimer team who remained in a second place in a handicap well higher than this one. Advantaged by the distance, and entrusted to Christophe Soumillon, he should meet the expectations of his mentor who expects a great performance.

9 – LEMPIRA
During his last season in 2023, he won in very good style on the PSF of Chantilly over a distance close to the one that interests us. Certainly, he was only third during his attempt to return to Nancy, but this race was intended to prepare him in anticipation of this targeted engagement. Moreover, he had not been favored by the very heavy terrain. However, he was credited with a good final effort. Having run well during his only attempt on this Putois track, he could meet the expectations of Gavin Hernon who considers him competitive.
14 – UTAMARO
His last outing in the race where Présage Nocturne placed second is far from ridiculous, especially since he pulled a little too much that day. This “poor performance” allowed him to shed another kilo, he now finds himself very close to the value which allowed him to win his only event. Also returning to a track on which he has raced twice, for two second places in this category, one ahead of Jazzmen, he should be talked about again. Know that those around him are optimistic.
2 – GOLDEN CALL
This protégé of Pantall training is now placed below the value which allowed him last year, almost at the same time, to pin his quinté on the 2400 meters of Chantilly. Furthermore, upon his return, he finished third behind Présage Nocturne, the logical favorite of this quinté. If the profile of the Compiègne racecourse does not put him off, and he can benefit from a favorable course despite his poor number in the stalls, GOLDEN CALL is one of the many possibilities for runners-up.
16 – FLATTEN THE CURVE
Normally, he should have participated in a quinté in April, but he was declared non-starter following a small health problem which, according to those around him, has now been resolved. He had shown that he had recovered a good level during his last outing on the track by finishing fourth, on a very heavy track which was not to his advantage, ahead of La Templière, a mare who then finished second in a event. Having worked well in anticipation of this objective according to his mentor, he could take advantage of his small weight to amaze.
4 – WOOT CITY
He’s never been taken that high on the value scale, but he’s perhaps never been that good. During his last victory, in a quinté contested over the 3000 meters of Strasbourg, he won by two good lengths, although he had nevertheless been forced to make a significant effort in the line opposite. He will no longer be able to count on Tony Piccone here, but Stéphane Pasquier has already ridden him successfully in this type of competition. WOOT CITY could go faster than the handicappers.
11 – BARBATE
He can boast of having opened his record ahead of Wida, a filly who then tried her luck at a completely different level. We should not condemn him on his first outing in this category, especially since he was less well placed in weight and the ground was very heavy. He ran a little better last time since he finished sixth in a more upscale handicap ahead of Utamaro, while the ground was sticky. The track should be less flexible and he finished second during his only outing at Le Putois. This son of Frankel may have some ambitions.
13 – FRIENDS
Noticed in the quinté of April 30 by his end of the race, he once again finished well last in the quinté won by Woot City, a horse that he finds here with a weight advantage. The ground should soften a little, but this should not be a big handicap for KAPANI. Finding a route on which he had finished second during his only attempt, and credited with a good number in the starting boxes, which will be a small advantage with the field placed at 0 meters, KAPANI can seize a small place.
