Around twenty volunteers from the municipalities of Tocane-Saint-Âpre and Mensignac took part in the eco-citizen day organized by the company Ma Vie Éco and the municipal youth council.

On Sunday June 16, around twenty volunteers gathered alongside the company Ma Vie Éco, which sells natural and ecological products, and children from the Mensignac municipal youth council to clean the surroundings of the D710, located between the two villages.

The morning began with a welcome coffee where participants received pick-up instructions. Two teams of children methodically walked the streets of Mensignac, while the adults split up into trios along the main road.

This cleaning operation lasted two hours, at the end of which more than 80 kg of waste was collected. Participants were amazed by the diversity of objects collected, ranging from plastic debris to piles of barbed wire, including cigarette butts, cigarette boxes and soda cans.

The SMD3 also played an important role in helping to sort waste and thus allowing the collected materials to be recycled and properly processed. As a reward for their efforts, the children received a diploma from the two town halls and products offered by Ma Vie Éco, thus saluting their commitment to the environment.

After a few photos to immortalize the event, all the participants gathered around a friendly drink. Building on the success of this action, the residents of Mensignac and Tocane Saint-Âpre are considering new eco-citizen initiatives for the future.
