Laissac-Sévérac l’Église. A very successful outing to Carcassonne for the club “Le Clouquié”

The City of Carcassonne is history with this world-famous fortress, it is architecture with the renovations of Viollet-le-Duc, it is also light with a famous song by Charles Trénet, or even cinema with the tribulations of Bourvil in the finale of “Corniaud”.

It is therefore this mythical place that the club “Le Clouquié” of Sévérac-l’Église, had decided to introduce to its members and the program was dense, on par with what constitutes the main outing of the year of the club.

Arriving at their destination, a guided tour on a small train was offered to the group. It consisted of a complete tour of the city to visit the exterior side, the most attractive. At the end of this short tour, everyone was able to benefit from a long free time for a personal exploration of the interior of the City.

There, photos and small purchases, to the great pleasure of the tourists of the day, were the essential activity of the moment, in an atmosphere, of course, in Carcassonne, very “international” but also fun, sometimes surprising and always good-natured. The walk finished, it was time for a meal. Needless to say, this is still an unavoidable moment of truth.

The innkeeper offered, as expected, a cassoulet. Awesome ! In the afternoon, the participants left the city and continued their journey with a guided cruise on the superb Canal du Midi and its magical locks. On the boat, the guide was an American from Puerto Rico, now a resident of Mazamet, jovial, friendly and passionate.

It was really a great day and all the club members were delighted, and ready to do it again!

All the members of the club warmly thank the bus driver, whom they already knew, “for his kindness, understanding, patience and efficiency.”
