The farmers of Haute-Loire will respond well to the call for mobilization launched at the national level by the unions. Around a hundred farmers and many tractors are expected in the streets of Puy this Monday, November 18 morning.
“There will be a demonstration Monday morning in the streets of Puy from 9 a.m. But, I cannot say much more,” reveals Nicolas Merle, president of FDSEA 43. Eager to remain fairly discreet about the nature of their upcoming mobilization, the farmers of Haute-Loire will indeed respond to the national call for mobilization made by the unions recently.
“It was all wind”
Around a hundred farmers are hoped for by the FDSEA 43 and the Young Farmers. “We are going to denounce Mercosur, but also recall our demands concerning the non-administrative simplification and the excess of standards in our sector,” continues Nicolas Merle.
In Haute-Loire, discontent is increasing regarding farm controls. “Prefect Yvan Cordier had promised us single checks for farmers in the department. In recent days, two farmers informed us that they were going to undergo a second check soon after a first in August. The single check was working, the Minister of Agriculture had also stated that this would become widespread. Ultimately, it was all nonsense”, concludes the union representative.
The cup is full for the Altiligrian farmers who are already preparing the mobilization next Monday. “We keep it secret to have maximum efficiency on the sites we target and to make our demands heard,” concludes the breeder.
Farmers could mobilize until “mid-December” or even beyond
