With its golden sand and clear (swimmable!) waters, it is the perfect place to relax after a SUP ride

If you have never paddle boarded before, know that it is possible to do it at the beach or in the city center, by bringing your board or renting equipment on site

2. Taste very local products

The region offers a host of gourmet shops and producer workshops to visit.

At the artisanal microdistillery Distillerie 3 Lacs, we offer four gins prepared on site (blood orange, lemon-sunflower, grapefruit-rosemary or lime-basil), but also several varieties of vodka, rum and ready-to-drink products. Tours with tastings are also offered every Saturday.

For coffee lovers, it is rather near the Brûlerie Emma that you should enter to produce your own coffee during a roasting workshop or to enjoy one of the exclusive grinds.

In addition, it is possible to find everything for a picnic aperitif at the water’s edge among all the local shops, including the Charcuterie Jacques-Cartier, the Italian Café and the Petite Grange (which offers elsewhere a chocolate interpretation center!).

3. Take a bike ride and river shuttle

For cycling enthusiasts, the Great Loop Route offers a 34 kilometer trail on cycle paths, on the road and on the river shuttle which ensures the crossing of the Saint-Timothée dams.

It is also possible to do shorter bike rides by following the 25-kilometer Parcours au fil de l’eau or the 8-kilometer Boucle du bassin Saint-Timothée.

Everything is designed for cyclists: off-road cycling network, picnic areas, interpretation stops and rental and repair shops.

4. Attend a show with a view of the water

Are you looking for original accommodation for a romantic weekend or even a solo one? Flotel offers overnight stays in one of its six “rooms” which float on the water of the bay of Lake Saint-François.

Located in the city center and accessible from Delpha-Sauvé park, the floating units of this eco-responsible hotel are made from recycled containers. They each offer a full bathroom, a large double bed, an extra bed for a child and modular furniture that can be easily transferred between the private terrace and the bedroom.

For more classic accommodation with a breathtaking view of Saint-François Bay, you should book at the MOCO Hotel. Housed in a former textile factory from 1874, the newly renovated hotel has the feel of a boutique hotel, with its sleek design housed in a historic building.
