You may see them, emerging from the ground, while jogging on Mount Olympus. Two pipes are currently being deployed under the Meuse to connect the Bernard-Albin aquatic center to the city's urban heat network. A connection permitted by a tunnel dug several meters deep which has its source at the Human Rights crossroads.

Several workers stand under the Human Rights crossroads, at the start of the tunnel, to connect the pipes to the heat network.

Construction delayed

The end of this operation, initially planned for the end of October, was delayed by an unforeseen event. « We were disturbed by shale during drilling, which caused deviations. However, the tunnel must remain perfectly straight for the pipes », Explains one of the company workers in charge of the site.

A delay which will despite everything no impact on the conclusion of all the work on the heating network. “ It will all be over in December. And the network will be launched in March 2025 », assures Alain Barthélémy, deputy mayor responsible for works.
