Morocco moved up one place to 12th in the world in the International Football Federation (FIFA) rankings, published Thursday June 20.

With 1669.44 points, the Atlas Lions remain in first place in Africa ahead of Senegal, which occupies 18th place, with 1623.34 points. Furthermore, the national team also retains first position at the Arab level, ahead of Qatar, 35th, with 1504.06 points.

At the global level, Argentina still remains at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by France and Belgium.

In 2022, Morocco made a spectacular jump of eleven places to climb to 11th place in the International Football Federation rankings. Before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, Morocco was in 22nd place in the same FIFA rankings.

Coming 4th at the World Cup, the Atlas Lions had climbed no less than 11 places. The president of CAF did not hide his joy following the feat of the Lions which he described as“historical”. FIFA unanimously selected the Morocco-Spain-Portugal file as the sole candidacy for the organization of the 2030 Football World Cup.
