This Thursday marks the opening of the fourth edition of the mayors’ show from Vaucluse to , reports the Dauphiné Libéré. Once again, elected officials will discuss projects for their municipality. But this year in particular the city councilors will look into the question of budget.

The project finances at the heart of exchanges

A few weeks earlier, the government announced the finance bill for 2025 ; an unprecedented situation which plans to reduce grants to communities in order to cover the national debt.

Ahead of this meeting, Sandrine Raymond, mayor of Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols, spoke to our colleagues at Bleu Vaucluse, confident that this show will be “an opportunity to find support and discuss daily life during this difficult period.

More than 70 exhibitors and 700 local elected officials

Since 8:15 a.m., the show doors have been open. 70 exhibitors are present at the Avignon exhibition center (Hall E) until 3:30 p.m.

In total, there are more than 700 local elected officialswho will be on site. Many political figures are expected, notably Thierry Suquet, the prefect of Vaucluse, but also Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region and Dominique Santoni, president of the Vaucluse Departmental Council.
