Montbrison and its “relais-fourme”
After the Roanne territory in the morning, it is in Montbrison that the flame will continue its journey on Saturday June 22. For the capital of Forez, it is an opportunity to highlight what is best in its territory. Thus, the festivities will begin in the morning at 10 a.m., notably at the Jardin d’Allard where numerous sporting activities will be open to all such as laser shooting, football or BMX. Before the flame departs at noon, the City of Montbrison has decided to offer a “Fourme relay” from 11 a.m. with fourteen associations expected to take turns around the cheese. The flame will be launched from the Parc des Thermes in Moingt at 12 p.m. before arriving at the Allard garden at 12:40 p.m.

Feurs, a horse-like air
The flame, after Montbrison, will head towards Feurs where a great day awaits it. Indeed, the event falls on the same day as the Music Festival and the Hippodrome Festival. If a rather short passage is planned with a launch from the racecourse at 1:20 p.m., the flame will then head towards the town center of the town. Above all, a “Forezian flame” will subsequently be born and will be present in Feurs during the day on the town hall square. In the center, concerts and activities are planned and the festivities will move to the racecourse, which will open its doors from 4 p.m., for an end of the day around the horse racing world and the Olympics.

Saint-Chamond, a start at the Arena
A place which tends to become legendary and in the sporting spirit to begin with. It is near the Aréna Saint-Etienne Métropole that the journey of the flame will begin in the town of Saint-Chamond. 24 porters will take turns on a 4 kilometer course. On the route, the flame will cross the Novaciéries park and Hall in One before ending its course on the Place de la Liberté. In addition to the event around this passage, a whole series of activities awaits the inhabitants of Saint-Chamond. Whether sporting or cultural, everything will end with a musical performance with DJ Lord on the Place de la Liberté since the music festival, with a tribute concert to the group ABBA on the same place from 8:15 p.m.

Firminy, two events in one
Before the flame ends its journey in Saint-Etienne, it will pass through the town of Firminy at the end of the afternoon. If everything was to start at 4:30 p.m., it will ultimately be around 4:45 p.m. that the flame will be launched from the Unité d’Habitation Le Corbusier for a journey to the Le Corbusier stadium. A large dedicated area will be accessible to the public. The presence of Batucada should ignite this festive moment. Please note that the sporting and musical events will be free and open to all on June 22 from 1 p.m. at the Stade Municipal Le Corbusier. At the same time, the second edition of the Corrida Appelouse will take place in Firminy on the same day with numerous races which will bring an even more sporting aspect to this exceptional day.
