The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bouritaand the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Annalena Baerbockheld the first session of the Multidimensional Strategic Dialogue on Friday in Berlin, as agreed in the Joint Declaration Morocco-Germany of August 25, 2022. The two ministers reaffirmed their common interest in continuing the implementation of the Joint statement and to strengthen the multifaceted partnership in all policy areas.

They also reaffirmed their desire to further develop economic and trade relations bilateral agreements and encouraged economic actors in this regard. They highlighted the significant potential ofinvestment of Moroccohighlighted by the Investment Charter.

In the area of ​​migration cooperation, the ministers expressed their support for the work of the Mixed Migratory Group bilateral, which held its inaugural session on January 23, 2024 and welcomed the regular working meetings.

They agreed that reducing the irregular migration constitutes a common challenge and requires a comprehensive approach, ensuring international human rights standards. They thus agreed to continue improving the mobility of professionals, legal migration, return, readmission and reintegration.

In the field of security cooperationthey welcomed the joint declaration signed by the Ministers of the Interior October 31, 2023 aimed at resuming cooperation in all areas of domestic policy.

The two ministers stressed their common ambition to deepen dialogue to jointly address terrorism and other security challenges, particularly within the Global coalition against Daesh a you Global Counterterrorism Forum.

They highlighted their fruitful cooperation in the fields of climate policybiodiversity, renewable energies and thegreen hydrogenwhich will be intensified at a strategic level.

M. Bourita and Mrs. Baerbock agreed to promote bilateral cooperation in the cultural and academic fields and to strengthen people-to-people relations.

They also placed particular emphasis on the promotion of regional and international peace and security as well as the strengthening of multilateral institutions.

The Morocco-Germany Multidimensional Strategic Dialogue is held once every two years, alternately between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany, and is chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

This Strategic Dialogue is based on common values ​​and mutual respect with the aim of establishing the principles and foundations of relations between the Morocco and theGermanyto define the bases on which they will be developed and to preserve the priority interests of both parties. It also serves as a platform for discussion and consultation on strategic issues of mutual interest, including regional and international security and development issues.
