major disruptions expected on the Lille metro network this Friday

Due to a strike at Ilévia, trains will not run on line 2 of the Lille metro this Friday, June 21 until 3 p.m.

Public transport will be severely disrupted in the metropolis of Lille this Friday, June 21 due to a strike followed by some Ilévia staff. This action is linked to demands for the payment of a bonus for the period of the Olympic Games.

Metro line 2 will only run from 3 p.m. and only between the St Philibert and Fort de Mons stops with a frequency of one train every 3 minutes. There will be no metro between CH Dron and Fort de Mons all day.

Regarding metro line 1, the frequency will be one train every 2:30 minutes. For both lines, due to the Fête de la Musique, the last departures from Lille Flandres station take place at 1:30 a.m. in both directions.

Severe disruptions for buses

For the tram, the frequency will be one every 5 minutes on the common trunk, and every 10 minutes on the Roubaix and Tourcoing branches.

The bus network will be seriously disrupted. Lines CITL, C10, C11, C12, MWR, Z6, 30, 35 and 36 will not run this Friday. Frequencies will be changed on lines L1, L2, L3, L4, L7, L8, CIT5, CITT, NVL, CO1, CO2, CO3, 10, 15, 17, 32, 33, 34, 51 and 89.

On the other hand, “the peri-urban, school, Handipole and transport lines by reservation are running normally”, indicates Ilévia on its website which specifies that the V’Lille service will operate normally.

“What we are asking is that management respects its staff more. It imposes increasingly degraded working conditions on us,” explained Mohamed Farhi, general secretary of the CGT Ilévia Keolis Lille Métropole, to BFM Grand Lille on Tuesday June 17, while employees are demanding a bonus for mobilization during the Olympics.

For its part, management affirmed this Thursday, June 20, that it had proposed “a bonus system based on the constraints imposed on employees (…) In total, the system proposed by management amounts to the scale of Ilévia more than 1.3 million euros.
