Does basketry mean anything to you? It is the art of weaving plant fibers such as wicker, bamboo and rattan… In her shop, Estelle Rogez immerses you in the heart of her creations.
Estelle Rogez has started a professional reconversion towards a manual profession. She had never thought about basket weaving, yet that’s what her skills assessment told her. A few years later, she knows she made the right choice. Les Entrelacés d’osier were created in July 2020, in Arras, after a year of training during the health crisis but which did not hinder the motivation of the craftsman.
She learned everything from planting willow to uprooting it and transforming it, but what she prefers is making wicker objects. There are lighting fixtures, wall objects but there is no limit to creation other than objects that are too small. “I take a few hours to a few days to create my objects“, explains Estelle in front of these baskets made in the French or Spanish style.
We can do basket weaving workshops in his workshop on Avenue Kennedy in Arras and again in Mont-St-Eloi. She has a plan to move to the city center of Arras soon. It's more for adults but interested teenagers may find it interesting. Registrations are made on its website.
For next year, Estelle would like to work with interior designers to develop her professional clientele and be able to offer other creations.
