Barely launched and already at the center of several controversies. The show “On marche sur la tête” hosted every day on Europe 1 during this legislative campaign by Cyril Hanouna is making headlines. This Wednesday, Arcom (Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication) reminded the channel of its obligations in terms of “pluralism” and D'”honesty” with respect to “election news“.

And a little earlier on Wednesday morning, the controversy came directly from a listener. After Nicolas Dupont-Aignan and Éric Zemmour, Julien Odoul, outgoing RN deputy, was the guest on the set. It was then that a listener, who introduced himself as a supporter of the National Rally, spoke up to ask voters of the party led by Jordan Bardella to stop apologizing.

But what followed was particularly disturbing. While losing his temper, this listener mentioned his grandfather’s past, which could be described as more than troubled during the Second World War. “My father was in the Waffen-SS, he was deported. He was then naturalized in ‘just’adds the listener without Cyril Hanouna asking for details under a surprised look from Julien Odoul. Because he saved a lot of people“.

An intriguing passage which was not raised neither by the RN candidate nor by the host who simply commented: “We misunderstood, he was deported, okay“.

An extract which has since been removed from social networks by Europe 1. Ian Brossat, senator from Paris and spokesperson for the French Communist Party, managed to find the extract which he in turn shared. “Europe 1 deleted the video from its social networks. I give you this passage where a Waffen SS is rehabilitated without any questioning by the RN deputy Julien Odoul“, he writes.
