“USMA won”

Algeria Foot – The USMA Berkane affair continues to cause a lot of ink to flow within the corridors of FIFA and the CAS, which has still not responded to the request of the Algerian club and the FAF, consisting of replaying the match.

“I never said that the Algeria Cameroon match as part of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Qatar was going to be replayed. I challenge anyone to release a video where they hear me saying that. The same goes for the USMA Berkane match in the semi-final of the CAF Cup. I openly asked USMA supporters not to expect anything. I said it was difficult for the USMA to win this case,” said journalist Farid Maataoui on the set of a private Algerian television channel.

”USMA would only win in this matter if the match was replayed. For me, when the USMA refused to enter the field to face the Berkane team who had worn a jersey with a false map of Morocco, they won. On the other hand, in sporting terms, as long as the match is not replayed, the USMA and the FAF would have lost together,” he added with a touch of bitterness, especially knowing that the CAS was slow to make a decision.
