During this visit (June 26-28), Abdellatif Hammouchi had a series of meetings and interviews with, respectively, Celine BerthonDirector General of Internal Security (DGSI), and Nicholas LernerDirector General of External Security (DGSE), focused on ways to promote bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism and organized crime, and to raise the levels of coordination and exchange of intelligence data and regarding the various threats emanating from extremist organizations and transnational crime networks, indicates the DGSN-DGST Pole in a press release. During these bilateral talks focused on the aspect of information in terms of bilateral cooperation, Mr. Hammouchi was accompanied by a significant security delegation representing the DGST.

Furthermore, he had intensive talks with the Director General of the Police nationale (DGPN), Frédéric Veauxin the presence of a large delegation from the DGSNduring which the advanced mechanisms of cooperation and coordination in the various security areas were reviewed by the two parties, in particular the establishment of proactive mechanisms for risk assessment and exchange of information during their action common to secure the Summer Olympics Paris-2024, underlines the same source. In recognition of the excellence of the Moroccan-French cooperation in different security areas, Mr. Hammouchi was exceptionally decorated with the Gold Medal of Honor of the French National Policein recognition of its efforts to consolidate and develop common security cooperation.

This visit was an opportunity for both parties to examine ways to promote bilateral cooperation in several areas related to fight against transnational crimeparticularly those relating to drug and psychotropic drug traffickingto irregular immigration networksto the human traffickingas well as operational mechanisms for cooperation in the deployment and execution of joint security devices and operations.

It demonstrates the importance of raising the levels of security cooperation between the Morocco and the Franceengaged in several bilateral action and coordination programs and who face common security challenges, adds the same source. This visit also takes place in the context of the commitment of the services of the DGSN and some DGST within the international security cooperation system, in order to guarantee an efficient contribution to the elimination of terrorist and criminal risks and threats, on a regional and international scale.
