On the occasion of the next Romans Drôme home match, the club is renewing its commitment to the Drôme prefecture for a road safety campaign.

As Valence Romans Drôme Rugby (VRDR) prepares to play at home on Friday November 15, the club renews its commitment to the Drôme prefecture for a road safety operation. The results of road safety in the department have, in fact, “strongly degraded” in 2024 according to state services. The number of deaths would have increased by 44%, compared to last year, i.e. 267 accidents, 36 people killed and 225 injured.

The VRDR first joined forces with the Drôme prefecture last spring by broadcasting three videos with the players in order to raise awareness among the general public of “land values” et “good behavior to adopt on the road.” This new awareness campaign will be led by the prefecture’s road safety office. Workshops, breathalyzers distributed to participants or even quizzes with prizes to be won, “this evening aims to raise awareness of the influence of products through play, to call for responsibility through entertainment, so that sport remains a celebration”indicates the Drôme prefecture.
