Festiv’Arts returns this week, until Saturday June 22 inclusive, to enliven the streets, the market hall and the gardens of Saint-Lys. Especially since this year the cultural association which runs this event L’atelier des Arts is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

“Festiv’Arts is a real vector for all adult, adolescent and children members of Saint-Lys”, explains its president Véronique Crouzet, “With numerous musical performances, singing, theater, a conference on Japanese art, a competition of painting, as well as a raffle for a painting painted live by our host Marie Penetro”.

A CM2 class from the Florence Arthaud school will also take part in these festivities.

Each year, the Atelier des Arts organizes an exhibition to present the members’ work of the year.

At the end of the year, the Atelier des Arts also returns to the Salon des Arts et de l’Artisanat where artisans are invited to present their work in the La Gravette room. The association still participates with other associations from Saint-Lys at the Floralys in April.

Originally, the Atelier des Arts was created on April 28, 1984 by Jacky Villeneuve, assisted by Colette Lefort. The enthusiasm generated led to the hiring of a professor, followed by several others, to give technical courses in graphic arts. Since September 2022, the Atelier des Arts has been installed in the premises of the MJC l’Escalys.
