During the night from Saturday to Sunday, at the Sorgues rest area, located on the A7 motorway in the Vaucluse department, a woman experienced an attack of rare violence. According to newspaper information The Dauphiné Libéréthe victim joined a group of people present, visibly panicked and looking for help.
She told them she had been attacked and asked for their assistance in confronting the man she accused, a 33-year-old who was in her vehicle at the time.
A brutal escape attempt at the rest area
When the group headed towards him, the man put his vehicle in drive, and the woman, trying to stop him, held on to the vehicle. He then accelerated suddenly, dragging the victim several meters on the road. The situation took a dramatic turn when he hit a curb, knocking the woman to the ground. Injured and requiring care, she was taken care of by emergency services.
For his part, the driver was immediately taken into custody by the Avignon gendarmerie. The investigation, led by local authorities, aims to clarify the exact circumstances of this attack, which was particularly shocking for the witnesses present at this rest area in Vaucluse.
