On June 15, Globice Réunion launched the Balèn terla smartphone application dedicated to observing humpback whales from the coast.

Globice Réunion launched the smartphone application on June 15 Balèn terla dedicated to observing humpback whales from the coast.

“Downloaded hundreds of times in a few hours, Balèn terla is popular with its first users in Reunion at a time when the presence of whales in territorial waters is accelerating”underlines Globice.

The application, completely free and available in French, Creole and English, allows in particular:

– to locate the best observation spots on the Reunion coast,

– to characterize and report whale sightings in real time,

– to access exclusive information on the cetaceans of Reunion Island,

– to dialogue with the community of observers,

– to communicate directly with the Globice scientific team,

– to easily meet Globice volunteers in the field.

Designed by Globice Réunion in partnership with Wild Immersion, Balèn terla was financed by the Green Fund / Prefect of La Réunion and sponsored by the Réunion companies Fibers Industries Bois and WOOD Hotel & Spa, Reunion Island.
