A vacation that ends on a bad note for these motorists. On Sunday November 3, 2024, the gendarmes of the EDSR (Departmental Road Safety Squadron) carried out several checks near the Virsac toll booth, north of Bordeaux.
Several “dozens of vehicles” were stopped by the military and the Roquefort dog team behind this operation, indicates the Gironde Gendarmerie. During the afternoon, several violations were noted.
Driving under drugs, possession of a gun, lack of insurance…
During this anti-crime operation, the gendarmes arrested five motorists driving under the influence of narcotics. Other offenses were noted such as lack of license or insurance or possession of drugs.
Two vehicles were impounded. A person was also arrested for the possession of a gun without documents or permits. Other violations of the highway code were identified during this afternoon.
After this “far too high” number of offenses occurring during this operation, the Gironde gendarmerie “does not rule out” the idea of encountering the police “more often” on the department's roads. Beware of excess.
