According to our colleagues atActu.fra violent fire reportedly broke out not far from the town of Nancy, in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
This Saturday, on Boulevard de l'Europe in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, a fire apparently broke out in a seven-story building, devastating an entire apartment on the ground floor. Inside, the body of a man was found.
An important intervention system
Emergency services were called to the scene of the tragedy late in the afternoon. Several firefighters intervened to help more than forty residents. It was only around 7 p.m. that firefighters managed to put out the fire. Worried about not seeing the person residing in this apartment come out, the neighbors immediately alerted the emergency services.
The body of a man in his sixties was then discovered. Sick, the victim would have had difficulty moving around. Also, an investigation was launched in order to understand what elements could be at the origin of this dramatic fire. At this stage, the trail of a third person has not been ruled out by the police. The coming days will undoubtedly answer the many questions residents are asking about the causes of this tragedy.
