“A violent irony”

For the demonstrators, the arrival of Emmanuel Macron on the island of Sein to discuss the Resistance against fascism and far-right forces is a “violent irony”. “He never stopped reinforcing them both through his liberal political program of unraveling the social achievements of the National Committee of the Resistance, and through the dissolution of the Assembly, done in a hasty manner, risking putting a party in power founded by former SS men,” say the organizers.
“How did we, the homeland of human rights, the homeland of the island of Sein, of June 18, get here, to see within a few days, a few meters, the extreme right coming to power? », said the candidate of the New Popular Front in this constituency of Douarnenez and Pont-l’Abbé, Jugdeep Harvinder. Coming from rebellious France, she was joined by her colleague Pierre-Yves Cadalen, candidate in Brest. And to both call for the victory of their camp, “the only one to make a real barrier”.
