A stormy deterioration associated with violent phenomena is expected in the Lot-et-Garonne department this Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in the early evening.

At the end of the afternoon, a stormy deterioration sets in over the Bay of Biscay then approaches the west of the former Aquitaine. These storms then move back towards the north of the region at the end of the day before evacuating towards west Limousin/east Poitou-Charentes at the start of the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, losing slightly in intensity.

These storms are accompanied by:

  • hailstorms
  • wind gusts of around 90 to 100 km/h
  • cumulative rainfall of up to 30 to 50 mm in a short time.

Lhe risk of hailstones with a diameter greater than 2 cm is particularly marked.

VSes stormyou are likely to cause significant local damage, particularly on light housing and temporary installations. Flooding of cellars and low points can occur very quickly.

The Prefect of Lot-et-Garonne calls for the greatest vigilance, in particular from road users in order to adapt their behavior.
