The third link project in Quebec, on which the Legault government made a promise during the elections, then backed down once in power, before giving its approval again last week, makes the Prime Minister lose all form of credibility, according to the segment panelists The Analysts’ Joust.

After a report from the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec infra (CDPQi) affirmed that a third link between Quebec and Lévis was not justified, the new argument from the CAQ government to finally move forward in this project is now based on the “economic security” of the Capitale-Nationale region.
“The story of Quebec’s economic security, but it’s one of the worst farces I’ve ever heard in my life,” exclaims Luc Lavoie on LCN, Monday evening. It’s a joke in very bad taste!”
According to him, François Legault is far from having found his way back once again on his decision.
“We had the impression that this government was starting to calm down, things were going better and it had finished falling in the polls, even though it was up 1 point […] and there he arrives with such madness that no one believes,” criticizes the political analyst.
Despite the numerous pitfalls and contraindications to this project, the Prime Minister continues to firmly believe in a third link in Quebec, says the former Minister of Health, Gaétan Barrette.
“Not only does he believe in it, but he will do everything to do it,” he notes.

Like his colleague, Mr. Barrette believes that there is something to “laugh at” about this new argument on “economic security”.
“I think that François Legault dreams of one thing: to make his first shovelful of earth, that the conservatives come to power and pay for the third link and with the liberals no longer there, he will be able to abandon the tramway and not spend it », Supports the politician.
