From the early hours of the morning, cleaning agents were on war footing in the metropolis. Rachid Fadda, controller at Casa Baia in Aïn Chock, explains: “We have developed a detailed plan to effectively address the considerable volume of waste generated by the Eid Al-Adha festivities. The collection operations, launched yesterday, will continue over several days.»
All cleanliness teams were mobilized and additional collection trucks were deployed to support this colossal effort. “Once the dumpsters are full, we empty them immediately. A rotation system has also been put in place to ensure that this operation goes well.», specifies our interlocutor.
On the ground, the involvement of cleaning agents is exemplary. “This morning, we started very early with a single objective: to manage the waste from the celebration as best as possible, in particular the fleeces. We have also distributed bags to residents so that they can put their waste in them, which makes our task easier. We count on their cooperation to maintain cleanliness», confides an agent.

This operation is part of a Casablanca-wide action plan, launched to strengthen the waste collection program and intensify cleaning efforts. Remember that the city has mobilized around 6,000 cleaning agents and deployed 1,040 vehicles dedicated to this purpose. Nearly 120 tonnes of biodegradable plastic bags were also provided.
Ahmed Afilal, vice-president of the Casablanca council in charge of hygiene, previously highlighted that the days of Eid see the production of nearly 30,000 tonnes of waste. To better manage this quantity, an awareness campaign was initiated under the slogan “The cleanliness of our Eid… The happiness of our city”. The objective is to encourage citizens to adopt responsible practices, in collaboration with civil associations and waste management companies.
