A Monday morning at the Soustons market

Under the sun of this Monday morning, June 17, we do our shopping on the pretty Soustons market.

A few days before the arrival of the tourists, we manage without too much difficulty to wander the aisles of the Soustons market to fill the “France Bleu Gascogne type basket” in order to observe the current prices. First stop at the Ferme du Vieux Bourg in Castel-Sarrazin, real peasant butchers. Outdoor pig farming and on-farm processing. On his stand, Mathieu sells very beautiful products such as:

  • pork ribs at 14 euros 50 per kilo
  • the old-fashioned terrine at 18 euros per kilo
  • the head pâté at 8 euros 50 per kilo
  • axoa in pot from 750 to 14 euros
  • Garlic sausage without nitrite at 20 euros 90 per kilo
  • pork garbure at 14 euros per 850 g jar

From the Ferme du Vieux Bourg to the Vergers des Gravières de Pontonx stand where you can find cherries at 6 euros 95 per kilo but also salads at 1 euro 30 per piece, new leeks at 3 euros 95 per kilo or even radishes at 1 euro 50 per bunch without forgetting the white asparagus of the season at 8 euros 95.
