An association created in April 2024 in Gramat

Christophe Richard is the owner of the premises located at 40 avenue du 11 Novembre (former store 1^er Price). In April 2024, he created an association under the 1901 law called “Carrefour des Arts” offering friendly artistic and cultural encounters with local artists.

Christophe Richard gives some explanations on the birth of this association. “In April 2024, I made the premises and its street side window available to the painter Pascale Girard-Bard. I organized my first meeting, “Meeting with Pascale”. Subsequently, with the help of my neighbors who own a stopover gite, I organized an evening in May with the Estonian storyteller Ena Mets. The evening was a great success. Even more recently, Simone Guignard, a painter from Lot (from Thégra more precisely, editor’s note) well known in our territory presented 20 paintings from her exhibition entitled “The garden in full consciousness”. The meeting with M^me Guignard organized on May 16 was also a great success. Lately, I have been bringing to the attention of those who come to my premises, the novel by a local Lot author Krystal Amber entitled “A glimmer of hope: In the lineage of women”. »

11 local authors invited

Mr. Richard continues: “I am very satisfied with these first actions carried out which aim to offer this place of exhibition, expression and discussion to promote cultural exchanges in rural areas. At my modest level, I am a unifier, I want to present art in all its forms. I want artists to meet people, I want to promote dialogue, I want people to no longer say “you know, painting, poetry, it’s not for me”.”

Building on the encouraging success of his first events, Christophe Richard is organizing a new meeting on Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23, always under the sign of conviviality, “The weekend meeting with local writers”. The following authors will be present: Colette Brogniart, Guilhem Candie, Gilles Fau, Marie-Christine Houzé, Catherine Lamic, Sandrine Mage, Christian Mazet, Sylvie Pradelle, Brigitte Renaud, Marie Wallet and Zlévina. Mr. Richard specifies: “I will propose a free stroll for the public with the authors. Every hour there will be readings of poems and short stories. Visitors will also be able to see the exhibition of photos by Jean Cancès on the fairs in Gramat and Saint-Céré from the 85s to the 90s. Finally, on Sunday morning June 23, a Chinese calligraphy workshop upon registration and limited to 8 places “The moss garden” will be hosted by Domi”.

Let us salute these initiatives of Mr. Richard which contribute to the increase in the socio-cultural animation of the city of Gramat and its territory.
