Le Ventoux closed this Tuesday

From 6 p.m. this Tuesday, the summit of Mont Ventoux will be closed to traffic, between Chalet Liotard (north face) and the Barriere de la Grave (south face), on the RD974. No parking will be permitted. Several fallback areas are provided for parking your vehicle.

On the south face, it will be possible to park in the Ermitants zone, as well as the final straight of the RD164, before Chalet Reynard. The Chalet Reynard parking lot will be reserved for vehicles of the Olympic Games organizing committee and internal security forces.

Facing north, the Mont Serein parking area will be free.

Closure of access as soon as parking lots are saturated

As soon as the authorized parking areas are saturated, or at the latest at 11:45 a.m. for vehicles and 10:45 a.m. for cyclists: closure of the 3 access points (RD974 from Bédoin bend of Saint-Estève, RD164 from Sault intersection route du Ventoux and chemin de la Champelle, RD974 from Malaucène Chalet Liotard).

At the end of the sequence, the roads will reopen in two stages: for cyclists, first, then for vehicles. Access restrictions for cyclists and motorists will be in effect 2 hours and 1 hour respectively before the sequence.

A cycling climb

An important preventive forestry system, with around fifty staff, will also be put in place tomorrow. In order to protect the massif from any risk of fire, the access trails to the forest in the vicinity of the route will be closed.

From 8:30 a.m., departing from Bédoin, an ascent of Ventoux, organized by the French Cycling Federation, will also allow around fifty female cyclists to reach the summit before the start of the flame.

In Apt

Parking on the flame route will be prohibited from Monday 5 p.m. until Wednesday 11 a.m. And to circulate on Wednesdays, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Crossing the town will also be prohibited for heavy goods vehicles, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., via the RD 900. A bypass will be put in place, only for vehicles under 19t. Others should avoid the area.

In L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue

On the route, parking will be prohibited from Tuesday 12 p.m. to Wednesday 3 p.m. And to run on Wednesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. On the RD 901 route between Le Thor and the eastern entrance to the urban area, crossing L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue will be prohibited for all vehicles. Several diversions will be put in place.

It is advisable to arrive before 9:30 a.m. because the main traffic routes entering L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue then risk being saturated (Route de Pernes in particular).

In Orange

On the route, from rue Saint-Clément, to the ancient theater, parking will be prohibited from Tuesday 11 p.m. to Wednesday, until the end of the event. And to circulate, on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to the end of the event.

As the torch relay takes place from 3:10 p.m. to 4:10 p.m., disruptions are expected from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. On the RD 907 and RD 976 routes, crossing Orange will be impossible in the city center. Diversions will be put in place. Advice: arrive before 2 p.m. because, from this time, the main traffic routes entering Orange risk being saturated. Numerous free car parks are available in the city of princes: the Sully, A.-Daudet and station car parks, the exhibition hall car park (since June 1) and the underground car park of the Théâtre antique, cours Pourtoules (free for 2 h). All paid areas are free for 1 hour.

In Sorgues

On the route, from the Himalayan footbridge to Dis Iero square, parking will be prohibited from Tuesday, 5 p.m., to Wednesday, 8 p.m. And to run on Wednesdays from 4:15 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Between Gard and Vaucluse

Be careful, the passage of the Olympic flame will cause major traffic difficulties between Gard and Vaucluse. From Wednesday June 19 (12 p.m.) to Thursday June 20 (midnight), access to the city of the Popes will be very difficult:

This will be done behind closed doors. However, a broadcast of the event on a giant screen is organized by the City at the socio-cultural space. It is recommended to get there on foot, as no parking is permitted.

In Rustrel, parking will be prohibited on the flame route from Tuesday 2 p.m. to Wednesday 10 a.m. Traffic will also be impossible there on D-day, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Baccalaureate exams in Orange

No difficulties expected With the passage of the flame through the city center and the baccalaureate tests, many people are wondering about the difficulties they might encounter in getting to the place of the test.

In agreement with the academy, the national education services have planned to allow access to high schools until 2 p.m., the start time of the tests, which will reopen from 5 p.m. There will therefore be no problem entering and exiting establishments.
