(SenePlus) – In a press release made public on Sunday June 16, 2024, the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs of Senegal announced the death of three Senegalese pilgrims in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
According to the information provided, these Muslim devotees had reached the Holy Places of Islam through private tour operators to perform the pilgrimage, one of the pillars of Islam. Unfortunately, life caught up with them on sacred lands.
“The Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs has been informed of the death, in Mecca, of three (03) pilgrims, led by private tour operators,” said the press release.
Faced with this heavy ordeal, the Senegalese authorities reacted quickly. “The Consul General of Senegal in Jeddah was immediately instructed, in conjunction with the General Delegation for Pilgrimage to the Holy Places of Islam, and the competent Saudi authorities, to make all the necessary arrangements for burial on site. of deceased persons, in accordance with Muslim tradition”, specifies the official text.
This tragic news aroused great emotion within the Senegalese government. Mrs. Yassine Fall, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, expressed her sincere condolences to the bereaved families.
In a surge of faith and solidarity, the head of Senegalese diplomacy expressed a prayer for the eternal rest of the deceased. “May Allah welcome the deceased to paradise,” she implored.
