After a month of May and a first half of June rich in precipitation, a summer incursion is expected at the start of the week with temperatures which will exceed 30 degrees in several regions of French-speaking Switzerland.

Despite a risk of thunderstorms which will remain very present, sunny weather will set in from Monday and especially Tuesday in French-speaking Switzerland. Almost summer-like temperatures will also be observed from Tuesday, with a maximum of 28 degrees in the plains and even more than 30 degrees in Valais and the Geneva basin, according to MétéoSuisse.

This sunny and warm weather will persist on Wednesday, still with possible thunderstorms, sometimes violent, at the end of the day. Temperatures will remain close to 30 degrees, or even beyond in Valais. A tendency towards foehn will be observed in the Alps, with a possible episode of Saharan dust.

During these two days, the 0 degree isotherm will be located beyond 4000 meters.

Deterioration at the end of the week

After these two days of heat, temperatures will drop again from Thursday, with a maximum falling to 25 degrees for this day and even 22 degrees on Saturday.

The weather forecast for the end of the week will be very changeable and uncertain with episodes of sunshine, showers and storms which will follow one another.
