Almost a thousand people to face the Seine. A major meeting place for water sports enthusiasts, the Nautic Paddle makes his return. On December 1, 2024, amateurs and professionals will take part in the thirteenth edition of the biggest paddle race in the world. 15 kilometers long, the route will cut through Paris before ending in Sèvres, in Hauts-de-Seine. And the inscriptions remain possible until this Sunday, November 17.
Notre-Dame, the Louvre…
Previously open to crews, the race will only be accessible to competitors coming alone. Departure will take place around 8 a.m. on the platforms located below the National Library of France (13th). The procession will continue alongside famous Parisian monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Museum.
In total, 28 of the 29 Parisian bridges will be crossed, including the best known, namely the New Bridgethe Alexander III bridge and the Bir-Hakeim bridge. The magic will end on the island of Monsieur, at the departmental water park, near the Sèvres bridge. The organizers thus chose an unprecedented arrival, after several years at the quays of Port Javel bas, near the Georges Pompidou European hospital.
This event demonstrates the dynamics around stand up paddle. Very popular, this discipline practiced with an oar and a surfboard attracts hundreds of thousands of practitioners. According to the Ministry of Sports, 50,000 people use it regularly.
