Risk of hail and violent thunderstorms locally: here is the weather forecast in Gironde

Keraunos, the French observatory for tornadoes and violent storms, evokes a “marked to severe storm riskdue in particular to a high potential for hail ».

Hailfall expected in Médoc and Blayais

First expected in the afternoon between Auvergne and Burgundy, “other storms will then take over around midnight between Gironde and Charente-Maritime. They will progress in the second part of the night towards the Center, while producing intense electrical activity, heavy rain and gusty winds”according to Keraunos.

The observatory adds that “sometimes heavy hail may also accompany these storm systems”. The Blayais And the Médoc will only be affected.

Gironde on yellow alert

Tuesday June 18, the risk of thunderstorms will still be very present in Gironde and this time across the entire territory, including in Bordeaux, from the end of the afternoon. Météo France has placed Gironde on yellow alert.
