In 2022, one of the rare triangulars in France took place in the Tarn. For the elections anticipated legislative elections of 2024there could be more. There are far fewer candidates in the three constituencies. And it is enough to bring together 12.5% of those registered in a vote where participation could be high after the shock of the European elections.
All applications are now known in the department for the first round on June 30. And the first observation is that the sudden announcement of the dissolution of the Assembly has made the suitors rarer. Two years ago, there were 35. Today there are 19 of them.
The three leavers, representing the three blocs, return to battle
In the first constituency, there are six. As a reminder, in 2022, there were twice as many…
Among the favorites are the outgoing deputy, Frédéric Cabrolier (RN), with Alain Dauzats as deputy. He will face the one he has made his main adversary, the current senator Philippe Bonnecarrère (presidential majority)who will try to dislodge him with Julie Capo-Ortega, who was herself an unsuccessful candidate in 2022. For the new Popular FrontIt is Margot Lapeyre who enters the scene, supported by Christine Deymie. Two years ago, it was Gérard Poujade, the mayor of Sequestre who represented the left.
Remember that the outgoing MP, Muriel-Roques Etienne (Presidential Majority) lost in the first round. The Tarnais RN then entered the national assembly for the first time. Frédéric Cabrolier beat Nupes Gérard Poujade (with a score of 53.09%).
The other three candidates are Orphée Pauthier (without labelwith Pierre Soldat), Eric Chavegrand (Workers’ Strugglewith Vincent Lopez, already in the running two years ago) and Denis Rouquette (Reconquest, with Alice Karagatcheff). Note the absence of LR candidate.
Almost the same in the second…
In the second constituency, the battle will probably be between outgoing MP Karen Erodifor the new Popular Front (with Romain Jammes), the departmental representative of the National Rally Julien Bacou (RN, who tries his luck again with Raymond Bessou) and Pierre Verdier (presidential majority, with Fabienne Bex). Note that the latter is the husband of the former MP defeated in 2022, Marie-Christine Verdier-Jouclas.
Here, in one of the only triangulars in France, it was Karen Erodi (then Nupes) who won with a score of 37.50% ahead of the then outgoing Marie-Christine Verdier-Jouclas (presidential majority, 35 .05%) and Julien Bacou (RN, 27.45%).
Faced with this trio, there will be again Boris Gimenez-Sastre (Workers’ Struggle with Christine Meric). But also once again Joël Encontre (Occitan Partywith Evelyne Houles) and, this is new however, Frédéric Lamouche (without label with Matthieu Furlan) and Thierno Bah (LR, with Harmonie Descamps). The latter is the only real Republican candidate in Tarn.
An unprecedented LR/RN alliance
Because in the third constituency, there are indeed Guilhem Carayonnational vice-president LR. But after the psychodrama experienced by the party last week, its label took on another color. He is supported “unambiguously” by the RNwhich presents no one facing him (and his deputy Alexandre Puj).
Facing him, on the other hand, he will find two candidates from 2022. For the New Popular Front, Julien Lassalle (with Valérie Perrin). And for the presidential majority, the outgoing deputy Jean Terlier (with Géraldine Rouanet-Astruc). Two years ago, Jean Terlier retained his position thanks to his 53.71% obtained against Julien Lassalle (then Nupes).
In this three-way clash, Chantal Tressens (Workers’ Strugglealready present in 2022 with Bénédicte Bernot) will try to exist, just like Claire Dauge (Bastir Occitaniealso present two years ago, with Georges Annear) and Alban Azais (without label, with Céline Nguyen).
