Help to buy rainwater collectors in the Somme

THE Somme Departmental Council helps Samarians to participate in “sobriety use of water”, by setting up two aid systems.

50% of the price of collectors

The first is to provide assistance with the installation of rainwater collectorsand is aimed at individuals with their main residence in the Somme, subject to resource conditions (and with only one aid granted per tax household).

The purchase must have taken place after January 1, 2024. It amounts to 50% of the total cost including tax of the purchase, within the limit of €150 for the purchase of an above-ground or buried rainwater collector of at least 200 liters, and €500 for the purchase of an buried tank of 2,000 liters minimum.

Free kits to save water

Another system: the Department is putting in place from this month of June a distribution of hydro-saving kits.

Each of these kits contains three regulators to install on standard faucets, a bag to reduce water consumption in the toilet, and a flow reducing joint for the shower.

This equipment allows an estimated 50% water saving.

3,000 of these kits will be distributed this year, primarily to groups identified by the Department’s social teams and its partners who intervene in housing matters.
