Tour du Cantal cadets: double blow for Corrézien Lancelot Gayant during the fourth stage

The fourth stage of the Tour du Cantal cadets was won in a sprint by Corrézien Lancelot Gayant. The hilly course was covered at high speed, at an average of 37.53 km/h.

Saturday afternoon, on the roads of La Caba, on this 52 km loop from Vezels-Roussy, passing through Labrousse, then crossing the villages of Escazeaux, Espeies, Vixouze and return to Vézac, around fifty participants rode together at an average reaching 37.53 km/h, thus not being able to lead serious breakaways with significant gaps. It must be said that in the absence of the leader and champion of Occitanie Clément Bouyssou, the fittest of this meeting are Delrieu (Cournon), Pedersolli (Thorgadagne), Gayant (Ambazac), Rouanet (Lamothe-Servolex ) and Couzon (Poitiers) will find themselves the masters of the peloton in the few difficulties of this course carried out at high speed.

The sprinters win at the hot spot (km 30) with Pedersolli ahead of Zamparutti and Gayant. After these few skirmishes lasting up to 20 seconds, the regroupings were to allow around fifteen runners to pass in groups to Vézac.

On the way back, they appear as scouts successively, the Allanos and Senciaux reaching a lead of 39 seconds, then Couzon and Suire in the spotlight of the peloton which will take up these daring ones in the final of this fourth stage where the Corrézien of Ambazac, Gayant, is the fastest in this peloton of 17 runners.
