David Dehenauw arrives with news that will delight all Belgians!

It never seems to end! For weeks, the Belgians have had their morale weighed down by the gray weather. A weather forecast which can be explained, among other things, by the phenomenon of the polar shift. But could this week finally break the bad streak and see the sun make its appearance again?

According to IRM meteorologist David Dehenauw, you will have to be a little patient. “This week, it’s still a little too early for the weather to be nice,” he explains to HLN. “The weather will remain changeable and stormy. We are heading towards temperatures of 20 or 22 degrees with the risk of storms.”

“This week will feel like summer”

However, the week of June 23 could show drier…and warmer weather! “We will have nicer weather for the last days of school. Temperatures will rise to 24, 25 and sometimes 26 degrees. See even 27 degrees in Campine. This week will feel like summer.”

Will this continue for the months of July and August. “What we see in July and August is that it will be slightly warmer than normal, on average 0.5 to 1 degree warmer,” answers Dehenauw. “And this concerns both minimum and maximum temperatures. We don’t have any precipitation signals yet. But I’m no longer surprised by several weeks of bad weather in June like I am now. Remember that the average rainfall in June is 70 millimeters, more than in April and May. It is therefore not because the month of June is stormy that the summer cannot still be very dry. Dehenauw does not even rule out a heatwave!
