The inhabitants of Tangier and Tetouan are experiencing a sharp increase in the price of meat, a kilo of which has reached 300 dirhams in the space of a few days. This situation, amplified by the lack of effective price control, has sparked outrage on social networks. Although the government provided subsidies, prices high of Eid sacrifices HASl-Adha accentuate the financial pressure on the most vulnerable families.

Citizens of Tangier and Tetouan denounced the soaring prices of red meat, which, in the space of two days, exceeded 300 dirhams per kilogram. Faced with this situation, they expressed their dissatisfaction, particularly on social networks, highlighting the lack of regulation and adequate sanctions. Citizens have criticized the absence of price control committees, usually appointed by governors and local authorities, to monitor such abuses.

According to media reports, butchers in these towns have not only increased the prices of red meat, but have also excessively raised the price of mutton belly meat, bringing it up to 600 dirhams, while its usual price does not exceed 60 dirhams. This spectacular increase sparked strong indignation among consumers.

It is also important to note that the prices of animals intended for Eid Al-Adha sacrifice have reached dizzying heights this year. This situation persists despite the substantial subsidies granted by the Ministry of Agriculture to importers, estimated at billions of dirhams from public funds. Unfortunately, these measures have not benefited the most vulnerable families, who continue to suffer the repercussions of this galloping inflation without adequate support.
