A frontal collision took place on the RN20 this Sunday, November 10 – Photo SDIS09
A new accident occurred this Sunday, November 10 around noon on the RN20, near Mérens-les-Vals, in the direction of l'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre. This accident, a head-on collision between two vehicles, left four injured. Emergency services and the gendarmerie quickly intervened on site to take care of the victims and regulate traffic.
Four victims transported to CHIVA
Health professionals and firefighters came to the aid of the four victims, one of them seriously was transported to CHIVA by the gendarmerie helicopter, and medicalized by a SMUR team. “The three other more lightly injured victims were also transported by the firefighters to CHIVA,” indicates SDIS09. The intervention required four ambulances, a road emergency vehicle and a group leader, i.e. 16 firefighters as well as a team from the SMUR, the gendarmerie and the roads department.
This umpteenth accident is a reminder of the risks associated with this road, particularly during periods of vacation departures or long weekends, when the flow of vehicles increases.
As a reminder, A road accident occurred on the RN20 road, in Ax-les-Thermes, on July 11. It already involved two vehicles in a head-on collision. One person then died.
