National mobilization for “living forests” organized in Creuse postponed due to legislative elections

Initially scheduled for Sunday June 30, in Guéret, the major day of national mobilization for “living forests” will be postponed, due to the first round of the legislative elections. This demonstration, which should bring together opponents of clear felling and industrial projects, such as the pellet factory run by Biosyl in Creuse, should finally take place this fall.

The event had been planned for a long time. But, in the meantime, Emmanuel Macron decided to dissolve the National Assembly, by requiring that the first round of legislative elections take place on the same day… The great day of national mobilization for “living forests”, which was to be held in Guéret, Sunday June 30, will be postponed until the fall, “probably until October”, we learn from one of its organizers, the Syndicat de la Montagne Limousine.

Several thousand opponents of clearcutting and Biosyl

Several thousand people were expected this month in Creuse to protest against the “industrial” exploitation of wood and the clear felling which is “increasing”, we can read on the website of the demonstration. But also against industrial projects, such as that of the pellet factory carried out by Biosyl in Guéret or that of the extension of the Farges sawmill, in Égletons, in Corrèze.
