Conference. Yves Royer, a Haut-Marne engineer specializing in regional energy strategies, offered a conference at the Brottes village hall on Thursday June 13: “What electricity mix for 2040? “. The opportunity to take stock of the situation in Haute-Marne.

For several years, renewable energy development projects have multiplied in the Haut-Marne region. But not enough, according to Yves Royer, an engineer specializing in regional energy strategies. “In France, many municipalities have carried out planning relating to the law for the acceleration of the production of renewable energies. But Haute-Marne is at the back of the pack,” says Yves Royer.

According to him, one of the problems with the lack of development of these projects is the position of the department’s policies. “It is not in the objectives of the elected officials of Haute-Marne. They are against all that,” he believes. According to its data, “electricity production from renewable energies in Haute-Marne covers 71% of the consumption of the population of the department, including industries. But we must exceed 100% to benefit other areas such as Troyes, Reims or Dijon which will never be able to produce as much as here. It’s a wealth to be exploited,” explains the engineer.

Yves Royer returns to the Chamarandes-Choignes methanizer project, which was ultimately canceled before the end of the public inquiry. “I am very in favor of methanization, but this project was nonsense, it was too big. The same project, but spread over four or five zones would have been more relevant. »

Mills, wind turbines, photovoltaic panels… There are various solutions for developing the production of green electricity, whether on a large scale or for a household. All that remains is to motivate the Haut-Marnais in this direction.
