Rabat – The Republic of Madagascar and the Kingdom of Morocco are “brother nations and peoples” affirmed, Friday in Rabat, the Malagasy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Rasata Rafaravavitafika, while announcing the establishment of a new stage in the bilateral cooperation.
Speaking at a press briefing following talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the head of Malagasy diplomacy welcomed the the upcoming opening of a new embassy of his country in Rabat, with a view to boosting bilateral relations and cooperation with Morocco.
For Ms. Rasata Rafaravavitafika, the signing by Morocco and Madagascar of two agreements relating to the field of health and visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports of the two countries, marks “a new stage in bilateral cooperation ” and augurs “a new page in our history”.
Likewise, she thanked Morocco for agreeing to grant additional scholarships for Malagasy students and diplomats.
Also, she reiterated her support for the efforts made by the UN, while welcoming the serious and credible efforts made by Morocco to move forward towards a settlement of the dispute around the Moroccan Sahara.
